Head of Product Managers - Global Construction Equipment -Flemish Brabant

Function

Your mission is to maximise, together with your team of Product Managers, the profitability of your product range (sales and rental) and market share. Contribution to the "4 P's":

Product :

  • As an expert in the product range assigned to you, you will naturally keep abreast of the brand's new products and latest innovations.
  • You study market trends in the engineering machinery sector as well as current and future customer needs. Through your analysis, you determine the configurations of the machines you intend to launch on the market.
  • You follow training courses at the manufacturer's and share your knowledge with your sales team. When a new product is launched, you ensure that all the information (positioning, configuration, performance and price) is passed on to the right people.
  • You provide technical and commercial support to sales staff and internal and external customers.
  • You do everything possible to become (together with your team) the expert in GCI (Global Construction & Infrastructure).

Pricing :

  • You negotiate for the current and future product ranges for which you are responsible, the objectives to be achieved, the strategies to be applied, etc.
  • You negotiate and determine the prices for your different sales channels (vendors, direct customers).

Place :

You are co-responsible for distribution on a national level. This means that you follow up on orders, keep an eye on available stock and monitor delivery times. On the basis of this information, the sales history and the business plan, you give sound advice on placing stock orders in collaboration with our Supply Team.

Promotion :

  • You set up marketing campaigns in collaboration with the Customer Experience Team.
  • You put your expertise at the service of external and internal customers during demonstrations, comparative tests, events, etc.
  • In addition, these tasks are part of your daily routine:
  • You are the first point of contact for everything that concerns GCI retail & rental.
  • Analysis of progress, as well as points for improvement during business reviews (monthly and quarterly) with Caterpillar.
  • Ad hoc participation in leadership table discussions with headquarters.
  • Permanent monitoring of the go-to-market strategy and you inform the Marketing and Sales teams of changes concerning: the market, the market approach, the competition.
  • You are the link between GCI marketing and the after-sales service of technology, connectivity & Customer Value Agreements (CVA).
  • You will personally manage at least 1 product range to keep your product management skills sharp.
  • The implementation of the smooth integration of Work Tools in your business unit.
  • Regular consultation with the Supply Chain Manager and the various managers in your department.

Profile

You are a marketing expert with a passion for technique and state-of-the-art technology. You are assertive and a good communicator. Your coherent vision of the future of your job, your product range, your strategy goes hand in hand with a power of persuasion:

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing or in a technical field (e.g. Automotive), or equivalent by experience.
  • A good knowledge of MS Office 365 and a first experience in Salesforce is a plus.
  • Min. 5 years experience in a similar function in a sales and/or marketing environment.
  • Technical training (e.g. mechanics) is a plus.
  • You are bilingual NL/FR + good command of English.
  • You have a strong affinity with civil engineering machinery.
  • You know how to analyse and interpret sales figures and trends.
  • You are customer-oriented.
  • You are a born people manager.
  • You have a strong commercial attitude + persuasive power.
  • Quickly build up a network of professional contacts (internal and external).
  • Communicate professionally with various partners (Caterpillar, customers, technicians, suppliers, etc.), even in difficult circumstances.
  • Have an eye for detail.
  • Have an analytical mind.
  • Being a strategic thinker.
  • Being an expert in Excel
